P&G Forecasts Stronger Than Projected

Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble expects stronger than expected sales from its Gillette division in the current quarter and says the cost of integrating Gillette will be less than it expected. Companywide, P&G expects revenue to grow 25-26% during its fiscal second quarter, ending Dec. 31. P&G expects earnings of 68 cents or 69 cents per share and the company said Gillette integration activities will shave between 8 cents and 10 cents per share from earnings, down from its previous projection of 9 cents to 12 cents per share.
